I'm a huge Amy Butler fan. I think she is my all time favorite fabric designer. She also has great patterns. She has a new line of fabric coming coming out in April called Midwest Modern. My goal is to get 2 yards of every fabric in every colorway. You can check it out here. Here is something I made with fabric from her Lotus collection in the Tea Box colorway.
I used the Safe Place pattern from Favorite Things. It has room for about 20 credit cards (yipee), a zippered pouch, a place to stash cash and a little velcro closed pocket. The wallet took some time to make but was well worth it.

Doggie Sweater
A few years ago I decided to knit Miss L a sweater. It gets cold here in the northeast and our little dog does NOT like the cold. I had fun knitting it and (maybe) went a little overboard. Notice the eyelash yarn in the collar. It keeps her warm and it makes me happy all at the same time. What more can a person ask for?
By the way, is it illegal to have so much cuteness stuffed into 20 lbs?

Welcome
Welcome to my new craft blog. I thought I would start out with a sewing project. I sometimes pick up a copy of Inspirations magazine. It's a wonderful Australian publication with great projects. I saw an awesome handbag in issue 54 that I had to make. The front of the bag has 3 hand embroidered dress forms, each donning a dress made of silk dupioni. The project took a very long time because I didn't like making the dresses and I kept shelving it. But it's finally done and here are a few picures.
The front of the bag:
Here is a closeup of the dresses:
(Yes, those are little embroidered shoes)
And finally a shot of the back:
Thanks for stopping by.
